Kim Schnitzius works as the District Aide for State Representative Dan Daley. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy from Florida Atlantic University. Kim has previously worked both as a teacher and exceptional student education specialist. As an active volunteer, Kim has been involved with Girl Scouts for 25 years, and she continues to teach leadership workshops to high school Girl Scouts pursuing their Gold Award, the highest earned leadership recognition offered by Girl Scouts of the USA. She’s also served in the schools as president of a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting music education, PTSA treasurer, and a member of the school advisory council (SAC) at the local high school. She served as an appointed member of Broward County’s Consumer Protection Board for two years. Kim is the founder of the Weston Community Garden Society and served as the organization’s first president. She is also a trained member of the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) which supports first responders and advocates for emergency preparedness. Kim is a lifelong learner and enjoys taking classes at the local community college, workshops, training classes, and online courses in order to renew her teaching certification, for volunteer training, and for personal enrichment. In addition to her professional educator’s certification, she keeps her first aid and CPR certification current, and in the past she has been certified to teach Zumba and group fitness classes as well as archery and camping to Girl Scouts. As the daughter of a nurse who taught CPR classes, she has been certified in CPR since the age of 15. Kim has been married to her husband, Kevin Schnitzius, for 36 years and they have three adult children.
